wow. this blog has been dead for god knows how long. gna try to revive it. haha! ehh, this is no poem, but a song. got the tune, just need to find a suitable instrument to play it with!

(written at the start of the year)

There’s a girl beside a willow tree
One day she said to me
With tears in her eyes
And cuts on her arms
‘Give me a good reason to live’

As I saw through her mask of smiles
Broken hearts and shattered hopes
Someday we will know
The pain in her, hollow soul

As she wished on a shooting star
Crashing down on long green grass
Playing the notes
And singing her song
As she, strummed hard on her guitar

Standing by the riverside
Skipping stones and watching the sky
Singing out, with voice so strong
Lyrics of heartbreak and home

Breaking down and shatter vases
Pulling out all the flowers
The thorns cut through skin
But her nerves are all numb
And all she cared, was the boy that left

He was cruel, he was mean
But how my heartstrings tugged towards him.
With letters of hope and love so strong
The blow of the truth
Hurt even more

Slowly, as I looked to the mirror
And saw the black lined eyes
And suddenly I saw
That girl was me
