Black Rose
Black Rose

No one will ever tell me,
No one will ever know,
How on my own doorstep,
I recieved a big, black rose.

I was just day-dreaming,
In my own world-so free,
I got up and opened the door,
And gasped so suddenly.

The evening was cold and stormy,
Every thunderclap filled me with fright,
And I almost jumped a mile,
When I saw that rose, dark as night.

I wasn't that bewildered,
Or even a little scared,
Because when I saw that Black Rose,
I knew that someone cared.
